CE-Oh no he didn't

Yes he did! Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told the world yesterday that the iPad will not receive a native app for Facebook, this he says is because the iPad isn't mobile.

He added that at the moment, there are two ways to access Facebook from your iPad: www.facebook.com and touch.facebook.com, its touch-friendly website for, well, smartphones.
Zuckerberg later on took the microphone back. "I didn't mean to be rude towards Apple," he said. "We all love Apple products here, and we want to work with them and all that. I just want to keep the event focused on what we're doing today. The iPad is not a mobile platform in the same way a phone is."

As tablets take over the netbook market, this could be a huge new platform to develop apps for, not only for iOS, but also for Android and other tablet software.
I hope he will soon regret what he said and will acknowledge that an iPad app is imminent for the future.

First 24 hours with iPad! And what it did to me…

Yes, I bought an iPad!
I thought that it want such a big deal, until I started using mine.
In the beginning I upgraded to iOS 4.2, but after a lot of crashes, I decided to get back to 3.2.2.
Once installed 3.2.2, I started to take a look around at some apps and noticed that some of my favourite apps where available for the iPad or worked on the iPad straight from the version I had on my iPhone, great start!
After some playing around, I made time to really get in to this, so I downloaded X-Plane for iPad and had to say that that are some pretty amazing graphics those people put in there!

After my flight class, I tried something that I had never done before, I downloaded the first the best free app for playing the piano, and I started playing, or something. Guess what after practicing in my free time, I'm now able to play the beginning of the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, that may not sound impressive, but for someone who never had music classes, and never before touched an instrument, that's quite amazing!

Even more amazing is the fact that I've just typed this blog with two hands on my iPad, it just goes that well to type on this screen!
The only thing I cant do is upload things from here, so samples will be coming tomorrow!
And from now on, I will not be only reviewing iPhone Apps, but also iPad apps, and other cool stuff that may interest you!

Listen to Pandora radio outside US

Ever wanted to listen to Pandora radio? well you can, it's not that hard actually!
You have two ways to do so, one is to set your whole computer to an HTML proxy, and the second one is to use Firefox, and only set the HTML proxy to the browser.
I'm going to tell you how to do the second one, to set an HTML proxy in Firefox, so you can listen to Pandora Radio.
To begin, we must download Firefox, to do so, just press this link. After you've downloaded it and installed it, you need to download an add-on to set the custom proxy, I tested a lot of them, and this one is the one I like best, it's called Elite Proxy Switcher, and you can find it here.
After you installed the add-on, it's time to find a good proxy, this is the hardest part! A lot of proxy's just don't work without login, some are slow and some even stop working after a specific time frame.
I used about 10 proxies before I found the one I'm still using.
To find a good proxy, go to this website and set the country to the United States. Set the anonymity level to  high and high +KA. Now update the results.
The next step is to open Firefox, and go to the settings of the add-on, fill in the IP address where it says HTTP proxy and enter the port number where it says port. Click ok, and you're set!
If you found a good proxy with great speed, it should now be able to run Pandora Radio without problems, and still be able to surf on your high speed proxy free network on any other browser!

Microsoft has done it again…

They have done it again -_-
Microsoft has held a parade in celebration of Windows Phone 7 hitting RTM status. This parade simultaneously became a funeral for the iPhone and Blackberry since Windows Phone 7 will surely kill both of Cupertino and Waterloo’s creations.

But wait, I thought you said they've done it again?

Let me take you back to the year 1997, this was the time when Internet Explorer and Netscape where in a great war!
To mark the launch of Internet Explorer 4, Bill Gates decided to trow a party for the software warriors who created his new browser, but rather dan trowing it in Seattle, he decided that the more delicious venue would be in San Francisco, the very heart of Netscape territory. During the celebration that followed, Thomas Reardon and its drunken colleagues noticed the 9 foot tall Internet Explorer E symbol standing in the lobby of the party venue and inspired by a devilish if inebriated idea, they hoisted that huge E symbol onto a truck, and then the drunken Microsofties taulk it down highway 101 to Silicon Valley and they dumped it in the Netscape Fountain and staggered the way back to the hotel.

This time they may not have been drunk, but for me it sure looks like the same old Microsoft arrogance…

Delete your MSN account

During the summer, I made some big decisions!
One of them was stop using MSN, It's harder than you'd think, after I deleted my favorite IM client, I thought I was done, but after a week or so, I was back up and running.
So this wasn't going to be enough. I decided that it was time to go a bit further thus completely delete my MSN account.
To my surprise, it was easier than I expected, but rather hard if you don't know!
Just browse to https://account.live.com, log in with your MSN account, there you'll find close your account, after you've clicked on that, you'll need to enter your password one more time and your done!
That's just how easy it is, just to check everything happened the way it should be, I tried login in one more time on my IM client… guess what? I was unable to.
The next thing you'll have to do is delete your IM clients, and MSN will be in your past, for me it's time  to move to AIM!

iTunes 10

As Apple introduced iTunes 10 on september 1, it started a chain reaction of people whining about the new icon, the replaced traffic lights, the new UI elements and Ping!
It's just like the weather everybody talks about it, but nobody changes it! Let me tell you how you can change most of them so people would stop whining about it and get on with their lives.

Let's begin with the new icon, Apple changed the icon with some good reasons, the only problem is the fact that we got used to the old icon which has been used since iTunes 2, introduced in 2002, thus for most people they changed an icon, the same way we use our money.
This may be hard for some of us, but eventually it will be unavoidable! To make the suffering just a little less painful, I've designed the new icon in the old fashioned way, you can download it here.
The way to change the icon is very easy, to begin, we need to change the downloaded .png file to a .icns file, the best way to do so, is to open up the downloaded icon in Preview.app, than press File, Save as, choose format ICNS and check the Alpha checkbox. You might name it iTunes, as this is needed in the next step.
Once you've done this, navigate to your Applications folder and right-click on iTunes.app, click on 'Show package contents' double click 'Contents' and then double click the 'Resources' folder. Drag your iTunes.icns in there and it will ask if you want to replace the file, say yes, you might need to enter your username and password. That's it, you've changed the iTunes icon!
Do not change anything else in those folders, as it may kill iTunes!

The second most heard complaint is people that don't like the new positions of the close, minimize and zoom buttons. There's a u cure for that too! First close iTunes and open Terminal, you can find it in Applications/Utilities, and type in the following command:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes full-window -boolean YES

When you reopen iTunes, you will notice that the buttons or now horizontal, if you ever wanted to undo this, change the YES to NO in the command line.

And last but not least to you people who don't like Ping,
You can disable it, it's rather easy. Go to the iTunes store, look at the far right side of the black iTunes Store navigation bar, you’ll see your account ID here. Mouse over it to see a little disclosure triangle on the right, click this to see a little menu. “Account” is the top one; click this.
About half way down your Apple Account Information page, you’ll see a panel saying “Ping: On”. To the right of this there’s a button marked “Turn Off”. You know what to do.
Itunes will ask if you're sure if you want to turn Ping off, that's up to you!

-UPDATE-
People who want the old UI back in iTunes 10, can download this file, it's made by Damien Erambert, and changes both the buttons and LCD back to how iTunes 9 looked like.

Now people please stop nagging about the new iTunes and just get used to it, it isn't gonna change any time soon!
